Vila Maris Activity

There has been some activity in Maris Village of late on the recent arrival of four new property owners.

The first couple Di and Nick Pudlo popped in for only three days to see their bungalow. The second couple Jackie Thomas and Neil Grant came at about the same time and they will be staying three months. They had come last year and found only the block walls in place. All concerned were delighted at the completion and the workmanship of their new vacation homes.

During an informal interview with Maio Today Di said "We spent a lot of time in Gambia and we loved it. We also visited Sal and Boa Vista but when it came time to chose a vacation home we chose Maio." They said they were also very impressed by the good roads and especially the new tarmac section.

Jackie and Neil said that they had been inspired by what they had read about Cape Verde, came on a holiday, visited the other sun islands of the archipelago and had chosen Maio.

"Why Maio?" both couples were asked and all four gave similar reasons: It has such a pleasant quite atmosphere and the people are so friendly. The beaches are marvelous. "We go to sleep at night listening to the ocean waves," Jackie told us.

All four said they were also pleasantly surprised that although Maio gives such a rural first impression, it has all the modern amenities available.
